Review:
Wow...I don't know why I waited so long to read this one. I can't put this book down and I read this in six hours. Thank you Collen Hoover for writing such an amazing story. It is a story of survival. The story sucks you in, make me fall in love with Layken and Will and break my heart too.
I never thought I would love poetry as much as I did. The writing style is simple, deep, powerful and keeps you riveted to the page. I just can't get enough of this... <sigh>
And all I can say, I can't wait to read the next books in this series.
A MUST READ !
Sinopsis
#1 New York Times bestselling author Collen Hoover's romance, emotion-packed debut novel unforgettably captures all the magic and confusion of first love, as two young people forge an unlikely bond before discovering that fate has other plans for them.
Following the unexpected death of her father, 18-year-old Layken is forced to be the rock for both her mother and younger brother. Outwardly, she appears resilient and tenacious, but inwardly, she's losing hope. Then she meets her new neighbour Will, a handsome twenty-one-year-old whose mere presence leaves her flustered and whose passion for poetry slams thrills her.
Enter Will Cooper: The attractive, 21-year-old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for slam poetry and a unique sense of humor. Within days of their introduction, Will and Layken form an intense emotional connection, leaving Layken with a renewed sense of hope.
Not long after an intense, heart-stopping first date, they are slammed to the core when a shocking revelation forces their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together, and the secret that keeps them apart. Only through the poetry they share are they able to speak the truth that is in their hearts and imagine a future where love is cause for celebration, not regret.
